Swing Star Debbie Curtis has taken her late father Eddie's 17 piece band
to even greater achievements with a fantastic line-up of top musicians, featured guest stars and dancers!
Debbie is also unique as the UK's only fully professional female Big Band Leader.
Born into
the business, her father Eddie Curtis formed the original band in 1972. Debbie has grown up with the music, has a real
passion for it and knows the history. Debbie also performs vocals with the band.
Not just a concert, for 40s events, Debbie's
Hobsons Choice Dancers & Re-Enactors can make it a show for all ages when they join the band on stage providing
a ghostly glimpse into the past, portraying the Police, Army, Navy, RAF & Civilians! Beware of the hilarious Viv The Spiv,
he'll try to sell you anything from a Ration Card to Silk Stockings!
To date, the band has released 3 CD's
and a DVD, they have firmly established themselves amongst the top Big Bands and are the most rapidly expanding Big Band on
the Internet, building a massive fan base of all ages via the website, plus MySpace & YouTube.

The
Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band is the UK's most exciting professional Big Band for shows, concerts, private
or commercial parties and functions, concerts, dances, corporate events, university balls, weddings, black tie affairs, festivals,
cruises, tv and radio, award ceremonies etc. Quality Guest Stars and the band's unique 'Hobsons Choice' Re-enactors
and Dancers' (if required) turn a concert into a show!
Using only the best musicians, the band has performed at prestigious venues
such as The London Palladium, The London Savoy & The Cafe Royal. Our musicians have also performed with or alongside some
of the biggest names in show business such as Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey, Jamiroqui and Robbie Williams, to name but a
few! All are fully professional, no part timers
or amateurs.
First established in 1972 by Eddie Curtis, the band can cover the music of all the Big Bands, many
era's and many styles can be catered for. The band music library has over 10,000 music arrangements and continues to grow! Special requests outside of the library content can also be obtained especially
for an event.
Debbie is Eddie's daughter, she is the band leader and vocalist, an accomplished musician/performer
she is also an expert in Big Band music and the history that surrounds it. Debbie has a real passion for the music she grew
up with and is also unique as the only fully professional female Big Band leader in the UK!
An array
of Guest Stars are also available to appear with the band!
The DCRBB has their
own PA Sound System, so no need to hire one! It is capable if necessary of producing up to 3000 watts of combined power and
we do not charge any extra for this!
Should you book the band, the standard package would include Debbie Curtis, 16 musicians,
PA System & Sound Engineer.
You might also want to consider, at additional fees, 'Hobsons Choice Re-Enactors and Dancers',
including the immensely popular 'Viv The Spiv' and Sergeant Brighton. We also have Vintage Vehicles available. Hobsons
choice can also provide 'Meet & Greet' services, adding a personal touch to your event.
Patrick Lunt, former
BBC Radio 2 Broadcaster for over 20 years is a regular addition to the stage when a client requires a presenter, he is also
an excellent 'After Dinner' speaker. Patrick can also be booked if required.
Usual performances are 2 hours long
with a break after the first hour, this can of course be tailored to suit particular requirements. We can also provide, free
of charge, additional music on CD for background or dancing, or with a trio of musicians at a negotiable rate. A number of
top 'Swing DJ's' are also available.
For commercial bookings, we will provide a reasonable amount of promotional
material such as brochures and CD's for publicity etc. We have our own ISDN line for direct linking up to radio stations
for promotional interviews with Debbie. We can also email out event details to all our newsletter subscribers, as well as
advertising it on the band website.
A PR promotion on Debbie and the band reached around 60 million people across Europe by
way of national and local radio, newspapers, magazines and online news resources and the popularity of the band continues
to grow!
