Ringstone Round : Single & Video :So here is the next song from my quirky songbook, the eighth track and video in the series, one a month, every month.

The line Ringstone Round came from the original Quatermass film, however my track is made up completely from there, it is a track that I hope everyone will want to get up and dance to.

I put the drums quite forward in the track and played each drum part individually, so it is quite nutty. I also did a syncopated vocal overlay over the end of the song.

The meaning of the song is quite simple , it is literally , get up and dance with me, come on everybody let’s dance ! I used steampunk as a theme as it is very visual and I wanted the video to be quite bonkers.

It also features hats in many of the lyrics, like “lose your hat and you’ll never be found”, or “grab your hat and join in the line”  it includes various dances from a partner dance to a bridge dance, which looks like the old “oranges and lemons” dance many used to do as a kid.

In my head I pictured a Stone Henge kind of look to parts of the video, I also have my great Danes in it, I try to get them in every song video as they dance quite well!!

It would probably come under the genre of pop/dance/quirky  and is very, very commercial - I can’t think of any particular track I could compare this too really as in the style of it, although for some reason the vocal harmonies sound a bit like Boney M ! - It has a slight festival feel to it in a sense too.

The sax solo gives it a very slight calypso feel in the instrumental verses.

I quite like the line “wear your hat and worship the rain” as its such a British thing to have rain !! Anyway I hope you enjoy it
